Many people seem to think that you only miss someone if you want them back in your life, but honestly, most of the time that’s not the case.
You don’t miss anyone because you want to dive back into the toxic lake that is the love you thought you had for them. Moving and letting go does not mean forgetting all the beautiful moments that you shared with them in the past. You will still miss the person you once were, but you will miss all the good times you both had before it all came to an end. Even if you haven’t really seen her since, there are still those dark months you spent with that person.
I don’t know who you are now, but the fact that you have not got involved and let your emotions push you back towards that person proves that you have come a long way. You are used to what you have and you are better off now than you were then.
You will miss this person for a long time, but eventually you will get better and you deserve to find someone who will take care of you, as they will in the future. If you keep yourself off social media so that you don’t take too much time to remember them, stop taking the time to look at them to see if they’re amazing. Ignore your advances and forget the strong as time stretches around you and you will miss them at some point.
Cutting ties has never been easy and it shouldn’t be, but it’s a test of will, so take it one step at a time each day and see what comes out of it. No matter where you end up, no matter what, when everything is said and done, it will be much truer than you ever imagined.
