Johnny Depp’s Dior Ad Goes Back Into Rotation After He Wins Lawsuit

According to TMZ, the famed French fashion business Dior is airing vintage commercials starring Johnny Depp.

Depp remained the face of Dior’s Sauvage perfume while being involved in a highly contentious dispute. The perfume’s sales increased during the trial, which Depp won on all three charges of defamation.

Johnny Depp and Dior collaborated on a campaign in 2015, and the luxury house never officially dropped him, despite the allegations.

According to TMZ, the ads aired during a primetime edition of Fox’s Master Chef from 8–9 p.m.

The most recent advertisement was released in 2021. It portrays Depp surrounded by wolves playing guitar to Wild Thing. The exact date when the movie was shot is uncertain.

Both the movie actress and the French fashion house received backlash in 2019 after using Native American imagery.

The commercial was taken down after Dior was accused of being racist.

During the defamation trial between Depp and Amber Heard in May 2022, Sephora ran an advertisement for the perfume.

In January, Marie Claire reported that Dior sold a bottle of Sauvage every three seconds.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Sephora and Ulta have witnessed an increase in Sauvage sales since the study began.

There is no sign that Dior’s collaboration with Depp will continue, despite the fact that the two did not make public statements before and during the trial.

Additionally, according to The Sunday Times, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has no intentions to bring back Jack Sparrow to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. He stated that a Margot Robbie-led spin-off is in the works.

Tracey Jacobs, Depp’s former agent, testified that the actor was fed his lines over an earpiece on set. Depp, on the other hand, admitted in a 2018 Vanity Fair story that he wears an earpiece with music to get in the correct mood for a performance.
