Struggling 72-Year-Old Raising 6 Children Alone Breaks Down When She Finds Touching Surprise At Her Door

When her dearest friend and a group of generous strangers showed up at her door with various presents, one great-grandmother in her 70s was taken aback.

Ella Setzler, 72 years old, is raising six children on her own. The great-grandmother is now parenting six great-grandchildren after raising her own children and subsequently countless grandchildren.

The circumstances of their condition are unknown, but Ella saved the young siblings from a horrible situation and provided them with a loving and nurturing home.

The military widow from Las Vegas was struggling to make ends meet by paying for her home, car, electricity, and groceries on her own. It was unable to pay off the $900 water bill that had accumulated owing to a leak. And Ella assumed that Christmas was off the table.

Thankfully, she had someone looking over her shoulder.

Ella’s best friend, Alicestine Miller, who lives in California, was worried about her and planned a surprise for her.

“She’s a cook.” She does the cleaning for the kids. “She’s genuinely a nice person,” Alice told Fox5.

“I want her to know that someone is concerned about her.” – ALICE MILLER TO FOX5

Ella’s doorstep was showered with unexpected generosity when Alice contacted the Fox5 Surprise Squad.

“We’re similar to sisters.” Ella told Fox5 when she answered the door and they told her Alice had sent them, “She checks on me all the time.”

Ella’s dearest friend, Alice, was the first person the squad surprised. The ladies were then whisked away to a spa day in a black limousine as the team got to work.

Ella opened the door to a house full of surprises when the two friends returned.

The water concerns and repairs were handled by Rebuilding Together and Aqua Plumbing, and the balance of her water bill was covered. Also present were RC Willey and America First Credit Union. Ella discovered the house fully furnished and adorned for the holidays. Each child received toys and $500 gift cards under the Christmas tree, as well as a $500 Albertsons gift card for Ella to use to prepare some delectable dinners.

The final surprise was that United Nissan covered the rent for the following year.

“It’s just stunning. You’ve all made my year.” – ELLA SETZLER TO FOX5

The children’s expressions when they entered the house were adorable. One child said, “It’s a tremendous Christmas miracle.” “So, this is the finest day of my life,” she says.
“It feels like I’m in a dream, but I’m not,” remarked another.
“Simply love God and he will return your love and ensure that you have a Merry Christmas. It’s not about the gifts; it’s about the affection between family members.” – ONE OF THE CHILDREN TO FOX5
A good buddy does not have a specific definition. But one thing is certain: a good friend, like Alice, watches out for you, always has your back, and is someone you can count on in a crisis.
