Mom Dies Moments After Giving Birth To Twins But New Dad Trusts In God’s Plan

The purported happiest day of a couple’s lives ended in tragedy and heartbreak. Diego Rodrigues, on the other hand, was not going to let this tragedy define him and his family’s lives, frantically seeking solace in his faith.

Most of us value our family so much that we are willing to put our lives on the line to protect them. However, no matter how hard we try, life’s plans for those we love can often take a fatal turn.

Diego Rodrigues of Sao Paulo, Brazil, was willing to go to any length for his pregnant wife and twins. His efforts, however, were in vain.

Larissa Blanco, 24, desired to be a mother more than anything else in the world. She was now expecting not one, but two children. Rodrigues reflected on June 27, 2020, when she gave birth to her first twin:

“When she saw that lovely little face, I was overcome with emotion; it was her dream.”

Unfortunately, because Blanco had contracted COVID-19, the day ended in a way that no one could have predicted.

The mother died of a hemorrhage and cardiac collapse shortly after bringing twin angels into this world. Nonetheless, the father, seeing some rays of hope in an otherwise hopeless circumstance, expressed:

“I’m in a state of disarray.” I can’t seem to get her out of my mind, but I’m confident that God has a plan for us.”

Rodrigues’ religion, as well as his unwavering love for his children Guilherme and Gustavo, have aided him in overcoming adversity, allowing him to fulfill the role of father that his late wife may have envisioned for him.
