After A 6-year-old Beat Cancer, His Classmates Welcomed Him Back With A Standing Ovation

It crushes my heart to watch small children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Those who have had their lives wrecked by terrible illnesses such as cancer and leukemia.

However, John Oliver Zippay, a 6-year-old kid, battled cancer and triumphed. John Oliver was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and had his final chemo treatment in December of this year. John Oliver’s classmates at St. Helen’s Catholic School in Ohio gave him a standing ovation when he returned.

In the middle of all the tragedies, there are stories that provide us with the ray of hope we so sorely need. Meet JO, a bold 6-year-old kid who likes to be named John Oliver Zippay. According to CNN, JO banged his head on the headboard of his bed when he was three years old.

While exuberant little boys get into accidents all the time, something strange happened after JO’s injury. According to CNN, JO grew drowsy, his face darkened, and his doctor called to tell his parents to send him to the hospital.

JO’s parents received the worst news of their lives after a trip to the hospital and a battery of testing. According to ABC News, JO was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The next three years would be the most difficult in JO’s family’s history.

JO’s cancer was aggressive, necessitating steroid treatment, radiation, and chemotherapy. JO’s health and mind suffered as a result of these intrusive procedures.

Despite the fact that he had to take regular absences for his treatment, he always tried his hardest to stay on track with his studies.

JO was finally declared cancer-free by his medical staff following a three-year examination.

When it came time for JO to return to school on his first day as a cancer-free youngster, his teachers and classmates made sure that the brave little boy’s first day was one to remember. As JO entered the building and made his way to his classroom, he was hailed by professors and friends who were cheering him on from the corridor.
