Confused Dad Sees 2 Daughters Onstage At ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ And Ends Up Giving Emotional Audition

A Britain’s Got Talent audience member did an impromptu audition that left the audience in tears after his mother secretly entered him in the program.

After his sister-in-law presented them with free tickets to Britain’s Got Talent, Nick Edwards thought he was going on a date with his wife without the kids.

Nick, a property manager, was surprised to see his kids, Callie, 4, and Savannah, 3, with their grandma, Tracey, while sitting in the crowd.

His mother, it turns out, secretly entered him in the tournament since she knew he’d never achieve it on his own.

“You’re joking, right?” As Nick’s family took the stage, he could be heard exclaiming, “That’s my mother, you’re joking.”

Nick had about 45 minutes to warm up before performing in front of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams.

“They gave me my guitar that my family had brought down on the day,” Nick remembered, “and they [producers] said this is the song we want you to sing because we saw it on your Instagram.”

The 35-year-old father told the judges that he stopped singing in public because he had “lost a lot of confidence” in himself over the years.

“Hopefully I’ll be able to keep the nerves and tears at bay while I’m doing this,” Nick stated, hesitantly.

Nick then sang “Daddy’s Little Girl,” a song written by Ernie Halter, to his girls. The judges were “in bits” when he sang such a great rendition of the song.

During the heartbreaking performance, host Declan Donnelly, who has a three-year-old daughter, couldn’t help but cry. Declan turned to the camera and joked, “I’m OK!” after wiping away his tears.

Simon remarked, “It was very wonderful, you have such a lovely voice,” while David stated he had “4004 yeses.”

Nick said he was “in tears the whole day pretty much” following his unexpected audition during an appearance on the British chat show “This Morning.”

“If I go out, I have two options: either I go out and attempt to own it, or I come out and it all falls apart… “Everything happened so rapidly,” he reflected.

“I remember playing and my fingers starting to go a little jelly, and I remember thinking to myself, ‘This is going to be a big moment for you,'” she says. I don’t want to make a mistake.”

Many observers questioned the validity of the moment because Nick had a microphone on even before he was called onstage.

However, Britain’s Got Talent soon debunked these claims and provided an explanation.

“Last night, we had a blast welcome back our BGT viewers after a year away. “It would be inaccurate and inappropriate to report or hint to anything being manufactured or contrived regarding Nick’s audition,” a spokeswoman added.

Nick was approached to be a part of the show’s “gogglebox” audience when he entered the Palladium theatre during the tryouts, according to the show. As he sat in the crowd, they mic’d him to catch his emotions throughout the day.

“He was completely unprepared. They said, “We did this so we could mic him up without him knowing anything.”

The entire experience, Nick added, had been “emotional overload” but “wonderful.”

“I believe this opportunity on Britain’s Got Talent has given me the confidence that I’d lost, which is why it was also so emotional,” he added. “Previously, I lacked the acceptance that I needed to move forward.”

Nick began singing in church choirs when he was six years old. He began writing his own songs at the age of 15 and began performing in bands with friends and as a solo performer at local pubs and clubs.

However, after becoming a father to his son Jack at the age of 25, he “lost contact with music” due to a shift in his priorities. Nick, on the other hand, indicated that his passion for music had been renewed after his audition for Britain’s Got Talent.
