Women With Alopecia Say They Felt Jada’s Pain Over Chris Rock’s Joke at the Oscars

Alopecia affects about 7 million Americans.

The slap heard around the world at this year’s Oscars is Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss problem.

She originally opened up about having alopecia four years ago, and she’s been chronicling her personal experience with the disease ever since.

“I was in the shower one day, and all I had in my hands were handfuls of hair.” “Oh my god, am I getting bald?” I wondered. Pinkett Smith, who is 50 years old, stated.

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that affects hair follicles, causing bald areas and hair loss. For years, the actress has been outspoken about her fight with the disease and hair loss. Pinkett Smith said she was motivated to shave her head totally by her and Smith’s daughter Willow Smith last summer.

Alopecia affects over 7 million Americans, causing embarrassment and shame. Inside Edition met with ladies who said they sympathized with her sorrow as a result of Chris Rock’s joke.

“I’ve never had a G.I. Jane joke,” Mia Osbourne said, “but I’ve gotten bald eagle jokes and crystal ball jokes.”

According to Thea Chassin, the joke was offensive, but “violence is never OK for any cause.”
