Ticket Sales For Chris Rock Went Through The Roof After He Was Slapped At Oscars

Sales for Chris Rock’s stand-up tour have reportedly increased after the comedian was slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars on Sunday night, according to one store.
To the surprise of everyone in the audience, Smith rushed up to Rock on stage and slapped him in the face. It was in response to Rock’s joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia-related shaved head.
Smith exclaimed as he returned to his seat, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth!”
The unexpected moment has prompted a lot of online debate, with some criticizing Rock’s cheap shot at Pinkett Smith and others claiming that Smith should not have made things physical in the first place.
However, one ticket outlet claimed that the feud has resulted in the sale of more tickets for Rock’s next tour than in the previous month.
Rock’s tour was announced last month, promising “extremely amusing new stuff” when it takes off in April in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with a 38-city North American leg.
The star wrote on Instagram, “Ego Death World Tour 2022 all new things analytical incredibly intimate and very humorous.” I can’t wait to show you. Tickets are available for purchase using the link in my bio.”
According to TickPick, a ticket-selling service, “we sold more tickets to see Chris Rock overnight than we did in the previous month combined,” which was tweeted on Monday.
One person commented, “July 21-25 in NYC with Kevin Hart seems extremely intriguing.”
One joked, “He’s got some new material.”
After Smith smacked Rock, the Academy issued a statement stating that it did not condone violence.
On Twitter, the Academy stated, “The Academy does not condone violence in any form.”

“We are delighted to present our 94th Academy Award winners tonight, who have earned this award from their peers and moviegoers throughout the world.”
“I’d like to express my apology to the Academy,” Smith said as he won his first-ever Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. I’d want to apologize to all of my fellow nominees.”
“Life imitates art,” he added. Richard Williams’ insane father reminds me of myself. On the other hand, love will make you insane.”
Following the incident, the celebrity took to Instagram to apologize to Rock. “Violence, in all of its forms, is poisonous and dangerous,” he wrote.
“Last night’s Academy Awards conduct was terrible and irresponsible.” It’s part of the job to make jokes about my physical condition, but one about Jada’s illness was too much for me to take, and I responded emotionally.
“I’d like to apologize to you publicly, Chris.” I was out of line and incorrect at the same time. I’m humiliated, and my behavior does not reflect the man I want to be. In a world of love and peace, violence has no place.”
Smith’s Oscar challengers included Denzel Washington in Macbeth: A Tragedy, Javier Bardem in Being the Ricardos, Benedict Cumberbatch in The Power of the Dog, and Andrew Garfield in Tick, Tick…Boom!
