Adam Sandler Shows Support For Chris Rock After Oscars Incident

After the Oscars incident this weekend, Adam Sandler has thrown his support behind Chris Rock.

The 55-year-old Uncut Gems star has defended the comedian who was slammed by an enraged Will Smith at the Academy Awards event on Sunday.

On Tuesday, March 29th, Sandler took to Instagram to express his excitement for Rock’s Ego Death World Tour, writing: “Can’t wait for this.” I adore you, friend!”

In the wake of the Oscars scandal, the comedian revealed dates for his comedy global tour, which would take him to the United Kingdom for four days in May.

The Ego Death tour is now in the United States before kicking out on May 12th at The Royal Albert Hall, followed by stops in Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester.

In August, Rock will perform in New Zealand and Australia.

Sandler and Rock have been friends and coworkers for a long time, having worked together on Saturday Night Live in the early 1990s, where they were dubbed the “Bad Boys of SNL.”

They went on to star in The Week Of and the Grown Ups film trilogy together.

Rock has decided not to seek charges against Smith for slapping him across the face during the Academy Awards ceremony.

People couldn’t figure out if it was a staged event, but camera evidence showed Smith landing the slap on Rock’s face legitimately.
Given that it wasn’t just a “little,” many people worried if Smith could face criminal charges.
However, the Los Angeles Police Department has stated that this would not be the case.
The LAPD confirmed in a statement to Variety: “An incident involving two persons occurred during the Academy Awards ceremony, according to LAPD investigators.
“One person slapped another during the incident. The person who was involved in the incident has declined to submit a police report.
“If the concerned person requests a police report at a later time, the LAPD will be able to finish an investigation.”
