New Video Shows Jada Pinkett Smith Laughing After Will Slapped Chris Rock
Jada Pinkett Smith seemed to be giggling after her husband, Will Smith, slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Academy Awards on Sunday.
The video, which was shot by a member of the Oscars 2022 crowd just two rows from the stage, went viral on social media on Wednesday night, garnering over 350,000 views.
After hitting Rock, Smith stormed off the stage and sat back in his seat, according to the tape.
“Wow, Will Smith just knocked the s–t out of me!” says the audience. The footage appears to show Pinkett Smith’s head tipping forward with laughter as Rock continues.
“Here’s a view that most people haven’t seen before. “Look at Jada’s reaction,” the video captioned, which was published to Instagram by @akademiks.
In the comments section, viewers chastised Pinkett Smith, with one writing: “She put Will in trouble.”
Smith stepped on stage and slapped Rock when he objected to a joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head made by the comic.
Rock compared the actress to Demi Moore’s bald character from the film “G.I. Jane,” who suffers from alopecia and shaved her head last summer. Pinkett Smith, who was in the audience, appeared to be unimpressed by the remark.
The Smiths have yet to comment on the recently released video.
Meanwhile, minutes after being smacked by Smith on the Oscars stage, a viral video shows Rock appearing distraught and ashamed.
The video, which was published by the TikTok account @sincerelyordinary, zooms in on the comedian’s face as he prepares to receive an Academy Award after the attack.

As he clutches the Oscars statuette, the comedian has a mournful expression on his face and appears lost in contemplation, prompting one spectator to speculate that he was “in a deep state of embarrassment.”
Rock performed in Boston on Wednesday night, marking his first public performance since the Oscars controversy.
He told the gathering that he was still “digesting” what had happened.
During his acceptance speech, Smith expressed regret to the Academy and his fellow nominees. He notably left out Rock’s name at the time, but he has subsequently issued a public apology, which includes Rock.
The Academy said it is conducting a “formal review” into the incident, which would “consider additional action and implications.”
