Defying All Odds: Young Woman With Down Syndrome Becomes Model and Motivational Speaker

A teen girl from Colorado Springs, Colorado, is proving that no matter what your circumstances are, you can achieve everything you set your mind to. Kennedy Garcia has experienced a number of obstacles throughout her life, and she has been treated with skepticism and incredulity from others who doubted her ability to overcome them. Kennedy, on the other hand, has persevered in the face of adversity and is doing everything she can to realize her aspirations — while also growing into an extraordinarily attractive role model.

Kennedy was born with Down syndrome, which is characterized by the presence of an extra chromosome. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Down syndrome is the most prevalent chromosomal abnormality diagnosed in the United States, affecting one out of every 700 births. This might cause problems with the development of the bodies and brains of the babies throughout pregnancy. Kennedy was also diagnosed with cancer later on. It was evident that the journey ahead of her would not always be simple.

Kennedy’s mother, Renee, had always believed in her daughter and pushed her to follow all of her interests. Although there have been many ups and downs along the way, Kennedy is now doing what she enjoys and encouraging others to do the same. As a model, actress, and professional speaker, Kennedy continues to inspire people all around the world.

Throughout it all, Kennedy makes time for the people who are most important to her: her boyfriend, her friends, and her family.

While Kennedy is today the pinnacle of a role model, she did not always live a luxurious life. According to Metro, physicians advised Renee that her baby wouldn’t have a good quality of life because she had Down syndrome, and that raising her all the way to maturity would be difficult. Renee, on the other hand, has never given up on her daughter and has always encouraged her to shoot for the stars.

Kennedy spent a lot of time in the hospital as a child, according to Bright Side, but maintained a pleasant attitude throughout. Kennedy’s mother has continued to praise her and all of the ups and downs she has experienced on her way to becoming the accomplished 16-year-old she is now.

Renee stated, “She has really overcome a lot.” “She’s had over 30 surgeries, and as a toddler, she underwent leukemia and then spine fusion surgery.” She’s had a difficult time. Even when she was really sick or in agony, she always maintained a pleasant attitude and a grin.”

Kennedy shared a lovely black and white portrait of herself on Instagram on Feb. 4, 2020, to talk about her experience as a cancer survivor. She stated, ”

“It’s World Cancer Day today!” I overcame adversity! And once you’ve fought cancer, everything else seems like a walk in the park. In honor of those who have died in battle, in support of those who are still fighting, and in honor of those who have lived… increase awareness, find a cure, and keep fighting!”

Kennedy has gone on to become a model, actress, and professional speaker, despite the odds. She began modeling at the age of six and was discovered by American Girl at the age of ten, according to Bright Side. Since then, the adolescent has continued to model.

Kennedy also has a deep passion for dance, which she has practiced since she was five years old. Kennedy is the only person with Down syndrome on her competition team, according to Renee, and she has made wonderful friends via dancing. She’s also figured out how to combine her business and social lives, and she’s made time for her supportive boyfriend’s relationship.

Renee went on to say:

“Our path has had its highs and lows, but 16 years later, the good has far surpassed the bad.” We were given a pretty poor prognosis on her future when she was born and diagnosed with Down syndrome… not one that you would ever wish for, for your kid, but Kennedy has consistently proven those doctors wrong, as she has paved her own way and shown the world what she CAN do.”

Kennedy is clearly an encouragement to others, as evidenced by his remarks to students on how simple it should be to become friends with people from various walks of life. “People with Down syndrome or other challenges are just like the rest of us,” Renee continued. And I believe Kennedy wants to demonstrate this on her Instagram account every day. That she’s a regular adolescent… People who give her a chance will find out that she’s a fantastic friend and a lot of fun!”
