Bride Walked Down The Aisle By Man Who Received Her Father’s Donated Heart

Michael Stepien was shot and murdered while going home from work in 2006, but that didn’t stop him from attending his daughter’s recent wedding, since Jeni (Stepien, now Lynne) invited the guy who got her father’s donated heart to accompany her down the aisle, and it was a beautiful day.

Arthur Thomas, 72, was on the verge of passing away when a suitable heart was discovered. Michael’s heart was the recipient, and the gift saved his life. Thomas wrote the family a thank you message, and the two stayed in touch over the years, so when Jeni wrote him a letter asking him to accompany her down the aisle, he gladly agreed. He told KDKA, “What higher honor could a person have than to walk the daughter of the guy who has given his heart to him?” “I can’t think of a higher honor.”

Arthur Thomas couldn’t say no when Jeni Stepien (now Lynne) asked him to lead her down the aisle.

When Michael Stepien died in 2006, Thomas inherited her father’s heart, despite the fact that he isn’t her father.

He wrote a thank-you card to the Stepiens, and they kept in touch throughout the years.

And he couldn’t say no when Jeni wrote to him lately with a particular request.

“What greater honor could a person have than walking the daughter of the man who’s given his heart to him. I can’t imagine a greater honor.”

“It truly was the best day of my entire life!” wrote Jeni on Facebook. “To be able to bring my dad home and have him at my wedding was an absolute dream come true!”
