Ben Affleck Admits That Divorcing Jennifer Garner Was The Biggest Mistake Of His Life
After 14 years of marriage, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner divorced in 2018, and he still considers it to be his worst regret.
After 14 years of marriage, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner divorced in 2018. Things simply don’t turn out the way you expect them to sometimes, and it hurts a lot.\
It’s tradition for a Hollywood divorce to make headlines, and Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s split is no exception.
Even while we enjoy hearing rumors about and peeping into the lives of celebrities, at the end of the day, they are still just individuals.
Although having wealth and status may shield you from many of the issues that ordinary people deal with, there are some fights that neither can win.
We all engage in conflict with ourselves, which is one of those wars. It might be any one of the following: addiction, anxiety, or depression. The struggle is never simple.
It’s no joke how much of a toll Ben Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Garner had on his mental health. He calls it the “worst regret of his life.”
As I’ve already said, celebrity and wealth alone won’t help you win every war. Money and celebrity can occasionally even make things worse. For instance, Princess Diana’s life was wrecked in part by having no privacy and having all eyes on you.
And having a lot of money implies having a lot to spend on harmful and addictive things, as many well-known people have done.
Because of his own drinking issues, Affleck and Garner became increasingly estranged from one another.
Relapsing is all too common, and maintaining sobriety is a difficult and exhausting endeavor. Eventually, when everything started to fall apart around him, Affleck relapsed and turned to drink.
Anyone would be overwhelmed by a failed marriage, and Affleck was pushed to the limit. The same thing that was generating some of his troubles in the first place led him to turn to drinking once more as a coping mechanism.
Although he claims it was beneficial for him to stay away from that guilt, he felt intense sorrow and shame.
Shame is quite harmful. Shame has no beneficial side effects. The only thing it’s doing is stewing in a toxic, abhorrent sense of low self-worth and self-loathing Affleck stated.
The actor continued by discussing the subsequent toll it had on his mental health. He continued by saying that no matter how long it could take, he was still committed to getting back on his feet.
And he is right. At some point, we’ve all been knocked down, and the only way to handle it is to get back up. In fact, he even appeared in a memorable moment from Batman Begins, which, ironically, featured the character he would later portray in 2016.
He learned an extremely valuable lesson from all that happened, which is that sometimes turning to compulsions to deal with your problems can sometimes make them worse.
And once you give in to them, a cycle that is difficult to break begins.
“You then do more of it to alleviate that discomfort. Then the true suffering begins. You can’t escape the vicious loop that develops. At least, that’s what happened to me. he stated.
Affleck appears to be improving. He is currently married once more, to Jennifer Lopez.
We learn from our mistakes, and Affleck is prepared to move past them all and use what he’s learned. We should all remember the lesson contained there.
