Madonna Reveals Emotional Meaning Behind New Tattoo In Honor Of Her Mother

Madonna recently got a tattoo! The well-known singer inked a crimson wrist tattoo in memory of her late mother. She shared the message behind the tattoo with her social media followers and fans.

The 64-year-old music icon shared the new tattoo on Instagram Stories on Thursday. The new ink features a ‘X’ at the top and the French word “Maman,” which means “mother” in English.

Madonna put a broken heart to the bottom of the design and wrote in her Stories, “Broken hearts club,” in response to the piece of art. The singer stated, “We all bleed the same color,” while displaying her wrist tattoo with some blood splattered on it.

Given that Madonna finished her essay with the phrase “All moms get their heart shattered,” it appears that the tattoo is a reference to the particular struggles her mother had.

The Grammy winner recently discussed her prior relationships, including her marriages to Guy Ritchie (from 2000 to 2008) and Sean Penn (from 1985 to 1989).

In a recent interview, Madonna admitted that getting married “both times” might not have been the wisest option.

Lourdes, 25, her daughter with Carlos Leon, and Rocco, 22, her son with Guy Ritchie, are her children. Additionally, Madonna adopted Estere and Stelle, twins aged 10, Mercy, age 16, and David, age 16.
