Poor Parents Can’t Afford To Buy Their Daughter A Dress For Prom, So Her Brother Made Her One Instead. How She Looks With This Dress Is Wonderful

A man from the Philippines did something incredible for his younger sister on Valentine’s Day two years ago. He didn’t bring her flowers or chocolates, but he did give her a more meaningful present: garments that he had sewn himself!

In the Philippines, Maverick Francisco Oyao, his sister Lu Asey, and their parents live in poverty.

When Lu Asey’s announced the date for their approaching Junior and Senior Proms, the girl was pleased because she had been looking forward to it.

They were, however, compelled to attend the occasion in a ball gown, which would be prohibitively expensive to rent, let alone purchase.

Because Maverick knew his parents couldn’t afford it, he was worried that Lu Asey wouldn’t be able to attend the much-anticipated event.

Maverick, who was 21 at the time, knew how much his sister wanted to go to the prom, so he took matters into his own hands. Because of their financial situation, he felt he had no alternative but to make the outfit himself.

Maverick happily accepted the position despite his lack of experience. He looked for numerous designs of ball gowns on YouTube and Google and was inspired by Michael Cinco’s Spring and Summer collection. As a result, he started designing the gown around it.

Fortunately, he obtained financial aid from a number of sources, allowing him to purchase the materials he required and complete the project on time.

Maverick wrote on Facebook, “I didn’t think I’d be able to finish this on time.” “I even worried whether I could carry it through because the notion is so different from anything else that has been done before,” says the author. God, on the other hand, is very good. He didn’t abandon me.”

Maverick chose blue and white for the prom because it was a winter ball. Maverick wasn’t a designer; he was a Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education student who made the garment entirely out of his own talent and imagination.

Day by day, the gown began to take shape. Maverick wanted it to be a statement item that would bring attention to his sister, so he created a royal blue poofy skirt with criss-cross white satin ribbons. Then, to make the clothing even more noticeable, he distributed white rose blooms with crystal beads across it.

On the bodice top, Maverick used a beautiful blue and white ombré pattern. He finished the look with stunning butterfly sleeves.

After a week and a half of hard effort, Maverick’s creation was complete: he had created a magnificent prom dress for his sister from scratch!

The event was held on Valentine’s Day, when Lu Asey cheerfully posed for photos in her custom-made gown.

“Your brother’s commitment to you is that I will never tire of supporting you,” Maverick wrote to Lu Asey on Facebook.

“I hope I make you happy this Valentine’s Day.” Even if you did not get your wish for the best dress, it was the best dress for me, and it was the best because you were wearing it. Your brother thinks highly of you.”

Maverick documented and shared images of his dressmaking process on social media. He received a lot of praise not just for his outstanding abilities, but also for his wonderful efforts as a big brother.

Many people appreciated him for his creativity and inventiveness.
