Chuck Norris Confesses His Mom Prayed For Him When He “Nearly Lost His Soul To Hollywood”
Chuck Norris, a martial artist, has amassed a huge following over the years. He even became a worldwide symbol of strength, attracting millions of admirers.
He is the originator of Chun Kuk Do, an American hybrid martial arts style based on Traditional Taekwondo traditions such as Tang Soo Do/Moo Duk Kwan Taekwondo. He holds black belts in Tang Soo Do, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and judo.
He is a family man and a father of two, in addition to being a major figure in Hollywood.
He and his former model wife Gena O’Kelley have been married for over 22 years. Norris is one of our favorite characters because he never fails to remind Gena, as well as the rest of us, how much she means to him.
“22 years ago I became the luckiest guy in the world when Gena and I were married,” the actor wrote beside a photo of the two on their wedding day. My lovely wife, happy anniversary! There are no words to express my admiration and affection for you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life. Every day we are together, I thank God.”
Norris’ life does not, however, revolve solely around O’Kelley. The 81-year-old actor is fortunate in that his mother is still with him.
Wilma Norris Knight, who recently turned 100 years old, has always been a staunch supporter of her eldest son. Norris will be always grateful to her for being there through thick and thin.
Wilma had a difficult childhood. She was compelled to work various jobs, including cotton picking, in addition to attending school. Norris lived through the Great Depression, and she told WorldNetDaily, “When they’d finished picking one area, they’d sometimes relocate to another town to pick another field.” Life in the Dust Bowl was not easy, especially during the Great Depression.”
Wilma met Norris’ father when she was 16 years old. Unfortunately, after having three sons together, he abandoned her, leaving her to raise her children alone.
“Her whole life, Mom has been an example of endurance and faith,” Norris told Christian Post.
“She has also lost two spouses, a stepson, two grandkids, and my younger brother Wieland in the Vietnam War.” She’s had cancer several times and has undergone around 30 surgeries for a variety of ailments – and she’s still alive to tell the tale.”
Norris attributes many of his accomplishments in life to his mother.
“All my life, through thick and thin, my mother has prayed for me,” he remarked.
“Complications nearly killed me when I was born.” She was back home praying for my prosperity and salvation when I was on the verge of losing my soul to Hollywood a few decades ago. She even prayed for me to meet a woman who would alter my life for the better, and it worked.”
