Man Shares Story Of Keanu Reeves Buying An Ice Cream Just To Give Him His Autograph And Netizens Are Loving Him More

When this young man met actor Keanu Reeves for the first time, all he wanted was his autograph, but things turned out differently for him.

Twitter user @James Dator remembered his interaction with Keanu Reeves in a sequence of tweets that have gone popular on social media.

It was a peaceful Wednesday morning when he was working at a movie theater in Sydney, Australia.

Dator, 16, was starstruck by the actor, as is anyone who gets the chance to meet their favorite Hollywood star.

Reeves was in town at the time to work on his latest film, the Matrix series, and stopped by a movie theater to see “From Hell,” a Johnny Depp film.

Dator then had the brilliant idea of providing Reeves his employee discount in exchange for Reeves signing his sheet and so getting his autograph!

The down-to-earth actor, on the other hand, declined Dator’s offer, claiming that he “doesn’t work there” and hence is not eligible for the employee discount.

Dator was “frustrated” by the actor’s apology, so he charged him the “regular price” and sought to console himself as he failed to obtain Reeves’ autograph.

Keanu, to Dator’s astonishment, returned to visit him a few moments later.

“I figured you probably wanted my autograph, so I signed this,” Reeves said, handing Dator a receipt.

The actor allegedly purchased ice cream solely to obtain the receipt, which he then used to sign! It took Dator a while to discover that Reeves did it to give his autograph to a shy 16-year-old admirer.

The beautiful series of tweets soon spread over the internet, with many people swooning over the Hollywood actor’s caring gesture to a little fan.

Despite being one of the world’s most successful and well-known celebrities, there is little doubt that Reeves is a real lovely guy.

“Everything I’ve ever heard about that guy is authentic,” one user replied, while another added, “Keanu is a truly lovely guy – and you literally have the receipts.”

The 54-year-old actor is back on screen in “John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum,” his latest film. According to NBC News, the third episode of the John Wick franchise has already proven to be a tremendous smash, outperforming Avengers: Endgame with a $57 million opening weekend.
