Kansas Woman Becomes Third Sister To Turn 100, She Celebrates With Her 104 and 102-Year-Old Siblings

It’s always wonderful to celebrate your birthday, but there are a few ages in a person’s life that are very significant. There’s a sense of accomplishment that comes with finally becoming old enough to drive on your own, vote in local elections, and purchase items that you previously couldn’t. With each passing year, you’ll likely gain more freedom and get closer to truly discovering yourself.

Jamal Hinton and Wanda Dench’s story is one of the internet’s most popular incorrect connection stories. Dench mistookly texted her grandson in 2016 to invite him to Thanksgiving. She had no idea, however, that she had texted Hinton, who had responded to her. Despite the fact that their conversation was brief, it turned into something spectacular for both of them.

Hinton and Dench, who had been complete strangers until their fatal text interaction in 2016, will be enjoying Thanksgiving together for the sixth year in a row in 2021. Dench, like many others, had a rough year in 2020, as she lost her dear spouse to the coronavirus. Hinton also made a point of showing his support for Dench at this trying period.

Celebrating these anniversaries is especially enjoyable when shared with friends and family, as a group of three sisters from Kansas have discovered. On November 11, 2021, a woman named Frances Kompus turned 100 years old, marking a significant milestone in her life. While reaching a century is a noteworthy achievement in and of itself, the fact that she is the youngest sibling in her family to accomplish so is even more amazing.

Julia Kopriva and Lucy Pochop, her two older sisters, each became 100 years old a few years ago. In November 2021, Kopriva will celebrate her 104th birthday, while Pochop will celebrate his 102nd birthday in June. At the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood, Kansas, all three sisters gathered to commemorate Kompus turning ten years old – the same church where they had all been baptized, confirmed, and married. They had a party with 50 other individuals, as well as with each other.

Dench celebrated Thanksgiving with Hinton in 2020, despite everything she had gone through. Every year, Hinton makes sure to send images of the two of them to all of his followers, and this year was no exception. Hinton shared images of his get-together with his girlfriend, Mikaela, and Dench on Nov. 26.

According to KSN-TV, the three old sisters have also observed several historic events, both good and bad, throughout the years, including the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and the first time they were legally eligible to vote. It’s natural to ask what the key is to living such a long and successful life. Kompus attributes her personal success to a balanced diet and mindset. She also advises folks to be sociable, go on walks and “keep going.”

Kompus, Kopriva, and Pochop have always been close, and it’s apparent that their bond has grown deeper with the passage of time. They relocated into adjoining flats in Atwood after becoming widows. The three sisters are so close that they’ve been dubbed “The Three Musketeers.” Kompus was always eager to do anything she could to “keep up with her sisters,” whether that meant working or having fun.

“I’m grateful for us girls always being together,” Kopriva remarked.

The sisters gave future generations some advise, advising them to eat properly, exercise, and appreciate their elders.

While becoming a centenarian is a significant achievement in and of itself, the sisters say it doesn’t feel like that much time has passed.

“I don’t think (any of us) feels that elderly,” said Kopriva.
