Single Mom Adopts Abandoned Baby Girl – Has No Idea She’s Her Son’s Biological Sister

When her marriage came to a sudden end, a lady in her early 30s felt like she had no direction.

Katie Page has relocated to Colorado and has even changed careers. Katie, on the other hand, continued to feel as though something was missing until she got an email from her pastor.

Katie was asked whether she was interested in fostering a kid by the pastor. She had previously struggled with infertility and pondered adoption, so she chose to learn more about fostering.

Katie began attending fostering sessions and quickly realized that this was the road for her. After that, she went on to foster four children before deciding to adopt.

Katie discovered in 2016 about a four-day-old kid with no name who had been abandoned at a nearby hospital.

Katie named him Grayson and took him in; baby Grayson lived with her for about a year, and Katie grew to love him.

She adopted 11-month-old Grayson after the parents’ birth rights were revoked by the court.

Katie had just been a full-fledged mother for two weeks when her caseworker contacted to tell her about a newborn girl who had been abandoned at the same hospital.

Katie was both overwhelmed and terrified by the possibility of taking in another infant, but her instincts told her that she should.

“I know I’m crazy, but God is telling me to say ‘YES,'” Katie recalled, “and during the next 10 minutes and subsequent phone conversations I made that afternoon, the words ‘I know I’m crazy, but God is telling me to say ‘YES’ kept coming out of my lips.”

Katie’s baby Hannah was only a few hours old when she arrived at her residence, but it was while glancing at Hannah’s hospital wristband that she made a stunning discovery.

Hannah’s birth mother’s name was the same as Grayson’s on his bracelet, which the new mom noticed. She next investigated Hannah’s adoption documents, finding that the mother’s birth date was likewise the same, but the two newborns appeared to be entirely different.

“Grayson is half African American with lovely darker complexion and dark curly hair,” Katie said on her blog, while “Baby Girl has a pale white skin tone with straight red-blonde hair.”

Katie searched found the biological mother of her children and arranged for a DNA test, which revealed Grayson and Hannah were half-siblings.

“What if Baby Girl had gone to another family?” Katie wondered in her blog post.

“We would never have discovered her or Grayson’s mother if it hadn’t been for her.” The link would never have been discovered! “I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw what had had transpired.”

Hannah was legally adopted by Katie in December 2018.

“That day I said ‘Yes’ to taking the Baby Girl, I had the oddest feeling ever,” she explained. I don’t think I’d ever felt an unequivocal call from God until that moment (or whatever higher spirit you personally might believe in).

“My intellect was telling me to say ‘no,’ since it didn’t make sense and wasn’t in my plans, but something within was compelling me to say ‘yes.’ It’s a miracle, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, whatever you want to call it, but my children have found each other.”

Katie’s single-mother story of fostering and adoption has continued, and she now has over 90,000 Instagram followers.

Katie describes herself as a “perfectionist trying to make the most of a bad situation.”

This single mother has even found love and adopted another child, Jackson, their younger brother. Katie is now fostering an adolescent and documenting the struggles and joys on her YouTube channels and other social media platforms.
