HOW MANY TRIANGLES ARE THERE?
We all enjoy solving puzzles and exercising our minds, so it’s a wonderful choice. Are you ready to tackle this puzzle when you wake up?
Now comes the real test. Although it isn’t proper math, I recall our geometry teacher giving us a similar problem in school. This may appear simple at first, but you will shortly discover that it is not as simple as it appears.
A image is shown below, and the question is: how many triangles are there?
How many did you come across? The solution may be found below the following image.
The solution is below, but don’t get ahead of yourself by peeking!
THERE ARE MANY TRIANGLES.
To solve this puzzle, you’ll need to think outside the box a little.
Option C, 13 triangles, is the right answer.
The easiest thing is to start with nine tiny triangles.
Then there are three larger triangles made up of four smaller triangles.
Finally, there’s a big one made up of all the other triangles.
9 + 3 + 1 = 13
Are you sure you got the right answer? If that’s the case, congrats; you’re a true sharpshooter!
