Chet’s Youtube video, which he put on his own channel, was incredibly frank. He talked on how tough it was to grow up in a celebrity household and how it affected him. He did make it apparent, though, that if given the choice, he would not change anything about his life. He stated, “I adore my folks.” “I wouldn’t trade my parents for anything, and I wouldn’t trade my life for anything, therefore I’m glad and blessed for everything.”
Chet recognizes that celebrity isn’t always a good thing for a person, while not wanting to change his family. ‘The’ “”The fact is it is a double-edged blade,” the “Shameless” star remarked. It’s a lot more difficult, and few people truly comprehend it.”
Chet understands how fortunate he is to have had such a wonderful existence because of his renowned parents. He went on to explain: “There are several benefits, but it may also be somewhat strange at times. I got to do a lot of great stuff that not many people get the chance to do. I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world, stay in luxurious hotels, and fly on private jets, and I consider myself really fortunate. I wouldn’t alter anything about my position.”
The 31-year-old, on the other hand, was well aware that his celebrity and attention were not owing to his own efforts. “It was much more problematic for me because, on top of the fact that celebrity is inherently toxic, I wasn’t even famous,” Chet said. “I was just the kid of a celebrity, so I hadn’t done anything to get any form of attention, and that engendered a lot of contempt.”
For the single father, celebrity was toxic and, if allowed unchecked, would lead to ruin. Chet added, “You have to keep in mind that fame is the most potent addiction known to man.” “It has the potential to be the most devastating. People are enamored with celebrity and place it on a pedestal.”
One of the most difficult aspects was when people made assumptions about Chet because of his well-known family. “People would form opinions about me before they even met me, and it was really difficult to break past their barriers,” he added. He also acknowledged to having a “hard exterior” and a “chip on his shoulder” as a result of his ordeal.
One prevalent misunderstanding that irked Chet was that he had never had to work for anything in his life. “I was affluent, but not pampered,” Chet explained. “My parents did not lavish me with gifts; I was never given money or a stipend. Everything I’ve made has been earned through hard effort, and it’s been that way my whole life.”
The “Empire” star reassured his fans that things are going well for him today, and that he has conquered many of the challenges he had as a child. Chet stated at the end of the video that he’s “I’m only now coming to the realization that I don’t have anything to prove to anyone. Overall, I’m really pleased, and I consider myself to be extremely fortunate. I’ve discovered a great deal about myself.”
