Despite his challenging circumstances, he made it to his daughter’s graduation, even if it meant walking about without shoes or slippers.

Shiela Mae Matre-Ruiz, a Facebook member, was the first to publish the now-viral snapshot.

She shared several heartfelt images of parents who didn’t wear shoes to their children’s daycare graduation ceremony.

The Mangyans, a Philippine indigenous community living on Mindoro Island, are the father and several additional parents.

In La Fortuna, Oriental Mindoro, the father works as a construction worker.

Despite barely scraping by, he continued to send his young daughter to kindergarten.

Shiela, who was also there at the ceremony, observed the father clutching his daughter’s hand and even leading her to the stage to receive her certificate of completion. Shiela was moved by her father’s sacrifice and chose to post the images on her Facebook page.

It didn’t take long for the post to go viral, as many other people were moved by the father’s gesture. The father could only afford a blue Superman t-shirt and a pair of blue shorts for the ceremony, while everyone else dressed up.

Both the father and the daughter had no shoes, demonstrating their poverty even further.

While many users were moved by the couple’s poor circumstances, many others were impressed by the father’s desire to ensure his daughter had an education.

Even if he is unable to offer his daughter with a luxurious lifestyle, he ensures that she has a better future by enrolling her in school.
