Kind 9-Yr-Old Donated 300 Hats, Gloves And Scarves To Help Foster Children Stay Warm During Winter

Hundreds of foster children will be kept warm this winter thanks to a kind 9-year-old.

Korbin, a 9-year-old from Spokane, WA, set out on a quest to gather hundreds of new winter hats, gloves, and scarves to donate to foster children and the homeless who may not have access to their own.

Korbin took part in a charity donation drive organized by 16 Cents, 3 Shoes & 5 Socks, a Spokane furniture and mattress business that runs yearly clothing drives for the homeless and foster kids. Every year, members of the community come together to contribute new jackets, snow pants, scarves, caps, mittens, gloves, socks, boots, blankets, and sleeping bags to those in need.

Korbin was moved by the drive’s noble aim and decided to help in any way he could.

“This winter, a 9-year-old wants to help keep other children warm,” 16 Cents, 3 Shoes, and 5 Socks wrote on Facebook.

Korbin went shopping for foster children on Thursday night. He intends to fill hundreds of donation bags with hats, gloves, and scarves for foster children. Korbin intends to gather 500 of each this year. He’s got 167 hats, 152 gloves, and 95 scarves so far. If you want to help him meet his goal, you may contribute new hats, gloves, and scarves at 16 Cents, 3 Shoes, and 5 Socks (Division and Sharp) during the 6th Annual #CrazyCampout on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Embrace Washington and Family Promise of Spokane will receive all donations.”

Korbin returned several times to drop off the several items of clothes he had gathered, and he was able to fill three huge barrels with stuff for foster children and the homeless.

“Korbin, a 9-year-old, came to the Crazy Campout with even more donations for foster children. Korbin has so far stuffed three barrels full of hats, gloves, and scarves. During the holiday season, Korbin’s donations will be distributed to foster children. Donate new hats, gloves, and scarves for foster children ranging in age from baby to eighteen.”
