11-Year-Old Madison Baez Earns Golden Buzzer After Unexpectedly Being Chosen From Audience

Every season of “America’s Got Talent,” the hit competition show, introduces a new crop of new talent and surprising acts. Acts are encouraged to come and display their talents in front of the judges and a live audience, whether it’s singing, dancing, performing stand-up comedy, or putting on a magic show. Many stars have been discovered on the competition series over the years, and each new season has proven to be better than the last.

Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Heidi Klum are the current judges. With so many acts vying for a spot in the next round and at least three yeses from the judges — or even better, the golden buzzer — the pressure is on for each act to perform well.

Performing has always come effortlessly to Madison Taylor Baez, who is 11 years old. Despite her youth, she possesses a voice that betrays years of expertise, as well as a very amazing vocal range and tone. Because she has been an up-and-coming celebrity for several years, the bright little lady has already left a stunning impression on Hollywood. Madison even appeared in the Netflix series “Selena: The Series” from 2020 to 2021 as a younger version of Selena, the “Queen of Tejano Music.”

She stunned the globe — and the judges on “America’s Got Talent” — in June 2022 when she sang from the audience during what was supposed to be a commercial break. Madison was promptly called up to the stage by Cowell to share more of her story and great talent with the audience, possibly earning her a position in the competition’s next round.

Madison had already scheduled an audition for “America’s Got Talent,” which the judges were unaware of. The 11-year-old, on the other hand, had “dreamed” of this moment since she was four years old, and had worked hard to gain a spot in the audition round. Madison was invited on stage and sang “Amazing Grace” a capella, surprising the judges with her talent from the audience.

The 11-year-old sobbed after receiving a standing ovation at the end of her performance. The tremendous force of her voice, despite her being so small and young, astounded everyone. No one was more astonished than Cowell, who said:

“Wow. I’m not kidding; this has never happened before in all the years we’ve been doing this. I mean, I usually leave during the intermission because everyone sings. So this has the exact opposite effect; it has brought me back into the room.”

“Your life has just altered,” Mandel continued.

Madison added that winning the $1 million grand prize would allow her to assist her father, who has been battling stage 4 colon cancer for the past nine years, with cancer research. The judges and audience members could tell that it was an emotional occasion for the young child. Madison’s adventure, thankfully, is just getting started, as Mandel put it, “from the audience seat right to the live performance,” and she struck the golden buzzer!

Madison will now proceed directly to the live round of the competition, giving her a higher chance of winning. The 11-year-old posted an emotional Instagram post on June 11, 2022, with the caption:

“I haven’t descended from the clouds yet.” I’ve been practicing and working hard since I was four years old in preparation for this day. I never ceased to believe! “Thank you very much!”
