Christian Bale Says He Is Willing to Play Batman Again Only If Christopher Nolan Is Directing

From 2005 to 2012, Christian Bale portrayed the enduring character of Batman in The Batman Trilogy, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Night Rises.

The actor recently revealed that he plans to do another Batman movie. In an interview with Variety, Bale said that he would only don the Batsuit again if Christopher Nolan were to helm the project.

“Chris Nolan and I made a deal; we said, ‘Hey, look. If we have the opportunity to, let’s do three movies. Let’s then proceed to leave. We shouldn’t loiter for too long. If Chris Nolan ever told himself, “You know what, I’ve got another narrative to tell,” it would be significant in my opinion. I would participate if he wanted to share that story with me. He spoke.

Together with Nolan, Bale produced three Batman movies, two of which, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, raked in over a billion dollars at the box office.

When questioned about offers to rejoin the DC universe, he responded,

“No. I’ve never heard anyone bring it up. No one has mentioned it. I occasionally get the comment, “Oh, I hear you were contacted and promised all this,” from folks. That’s news to me, I think. That has never been spoken.

Although he will always be remembered for his great performance as Bruce Wayne, the film’s directors chose Ben Affleck for Batman V Superman in 2016 after moving on to other performers after 2012.

In Justice League 2016 and 2017 as well as Suicide Squad, Ben also performed as Batman.

Robert Pattinson played Batman in the 2022 film The Batman, which ended up earning over $770 million at the box office.

But according to 48-year-old Bale, he hasn’t seen the Robert Pattinson movie yet.

“I haven’t seen it yet. I’ll watch it. It’s astonishing how few movies I see, man, so listen up. I’ve seen a few of the films made by every filmmaker I work with, and they all always look at me like, “Are you kidding?” I don’t see many movies since I like to savor them thoroughly. But I will, without a doubt.

“Robert is an incredibly talented actor. I ran into each other, we briefly discussed it beforehand, and I heard great things. He spoke to Variety.

Many DC franchise fans want Bale to return, even though the majority has praised Pattinson for his memorable performance in the newest Batman movie.

On Twitter, a supporter stated, “Actual W, love the other actors who portrayed Batman, but I still think he’s my favorite one.”

So far as we know, Christian Bale won’t be making another entry in the Batman film series. He will, however, be making his big-screen debut in his next film, Thor: Love and Thunder, which will be released on July 8.
