Kim Kardashian said Many People Didn’t Know About Marilyn Monroe Before She Wore Her Dress at the Met Gala

According to Kim Kardashian, many people were unaware of Marilyn Monroe before we wore her gown to this year’s Met Gala.

American model, socialite, and media personality Kimberly Noel Kardashian, also known as Kim Kardashian, originally caught the attention of the media when she was Paris Hilton’s stylist.

Kim startled everyone in May 2022 when she showed out on the Met Gala red carpet wearing the legendary Marilyn Monroe dress.

Only four minutes were spent by the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star in the original outfit on the red carpet. She then changed into a replica before entering the theater to watch the show.

Kim previously told Vogue that she needed to shed sixteen pounds in three weeks in order to fit into the outfit. The public and certain media sources, however, criticized the model because they thought the dress was ‘too tight’ on the model.

The “before” and “after” images of the original outfit started circulating on various social media sites a few days after the Met Gala. The garment was torn in the photos, and some of the crystals were either gone or hanging off of the fabric, indicating that Kim had somehow ruined it.

The iconic Marilyn Monroe outfit she wore in 1962 when she sang a birthday song for former American President John F. Kennedy generated a sensation on social media, and many began criticizing her for having the audacity to wear it.

Marilyn was a smart, kind woman who was used, mistreated, and exploited her entire life, and even in death is still being treated with such disdain, which is why it’s so heartbreaking that Kim Kardashian trashed her outfit. A user tweeted incensedly.

Kardashian addressed the public’s worries and all the criticism she received following the Met Gala while speaking on the Today Show.

When asked about her TikTok statement by hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, Kim said that some people had never even heard of Marilyn Monroe until she wore her fabled outfit.

“I respect her, and I recognize the significance of her outfit in American history. What could be more American, I reasoned, than Marilyn Monroe wishing the American president a happy birthday while singing “Happy Birthday”?

Additionally, she said, “It was such a process. I arrived on the red carpet wearing a robe and pajamas. I changed into the dress at the top of the stairs after putting it on at the bottom of the carpet and walking up the stairs for maybe four minutes.
