Owen Wilson “Changed His Phone Number” & Cut Ties with Partner Once She Got Pregnant | “That Was the Last Time They Spoke”
Owen Wilson changed his phone number after finding that his ex-girlfriend, Varunie Vongsvirates, was pregnant with their kid.
In the previous year, the Wedding Crashers star has been chastised for neglecting to see his third kid, Lyla, whom he had with Vongsvirates after a four-year relationship.
According to a source who spoke to Radar, the 50-year-old actor’s efforts to avoid meeting Lyla are far more extreme than anybody realizes.
“Owen was not thrilled when Varunie informed him she was pregnant, and it was the last time they communicated,” the person added.
“He changed his phone number,” the informant continued. He’s never met his kid, and he didn’t even tell me he was changing his phone number.”
Lyla “needs a father,” said Vongsvirates, 35, in an interview with the Daily Mail. Wilson passed a paternity test last year, proving that he is Lyla’s father, according to the publication.
Vongsvirates speaking out, according to the source, has “nothing” to do with money.
“Varunie’s mother died when she was still young and impressionable,” according to the source. “She understands what it’s like to have only one parent.” That is something she does not want to happen to her kid.”
Vongsvirates, according to the source, gave up everything to become a full-time single mother. The fact that Wilson is frequently pictured with his two boys from prior relationships, according to the insider, is a “double whammy” for the new mother.
“All she wants for her daughter is a regular existence.” It didn’t work out between them – that happens – but abandoning his child is impolite and wrong,” the insider added.
Lyla is the actor’s first daughter, but his third kid, as Radar readers are aware. He has an eight-year-old son, Robert Ford, with ex-wife Jade Duell, and a five-year-old son, Finn Wilson, with ex-wife Caroline Lindqvist.
Vongsvirates was ecstatic about the future before giving birth to Lyla, and she even bragged about Wilson’s ability to be a parent.
“He’ll be a terrific parent,” she said at the time, “since he’s an excellent dad with his other two children.”
