Mexican-American Parents Are Shocked After Giving Birth To A Blond Baby Girl With Light Skin

Every individual, it was once stated, is a miracle. While it’s true that we all come in varied shapes and sizes, genetics isn’t Russian roulette, as many people believe. As a result, most parents expect their children to look like them, but some of these miracles are more shocking than others, leaving their parents speechless few seconds after yelling their welcome to this new world. This was the case with Edith and Raul Garcia, a Mexican-American marriage. While their baby girl isn’t the first albino beauty we’ve admired on Bored Panda, her story is absolutely remarkable!

Tatiana Bella Garcia has more information.

Edith Garcia gave birth to her second daughter in June 2014, three years ago.

When Edith Garcia and her husband Raul learned they were expecting another child in 2013, they were both startled and overjoyed. They already had a beautiful baby girl named Mariah and were looking forward to welcoming another child into the world.

She was taken aback when she saw her baby’s ivory skin, as she is of Mexican ancestry.

However, when she gave delivery in June 2014, the room fell silent (except from the baby’s screaming, of course) when she saw the newborn’s porcelain skin and fully blonde hair! “I had no idea what to think,” Edith said.

Edith and her husband Raul had no idea their family possessed an albinism gene.

And it wasn’t until Tatiana was born that they discovered they both had albino relatives.

Neither she nor her husband Raul were aware that they were albino. Because the albinism gene is recessive, people can carry it without being affected, and so may never be aware of it.

The sweet little girl and her family are learning more about her illness as time goes by.

And they are attempting to raise their daughter in a regular manner.

A gene creates a lack of pigmentation in one’s eyes, hair, and skin, which causes the disorder. “My mother asked my grandfather whether he knew of any relatives after [Tatiana] was born, and he confirmed that he did, but they were at least five generations back,” Edith recalled.

However, because her eyes and skin are particularly sensitive to light, they must still make minor modifications.

For Tatiana’s sake, they embarked on a journey to learn everything they could about albinism.

Raul’s family history turned out to be quite similar, as he had distant cousins with the disease. Edith claims that they were first unsure of their daughter’s health, which led them to question it and conduct extensive research.

However, it is also necessary to educate others.

“A force to be reckoned with,” Edith says of her daughter, who “will not let her vision impairment get in the way.”

She received a lot of support online from others who were albinos or had albinos in their family. She also admits to hearing some heartbreaking remarks directed at those with albinism. That was the turning point in her choice to go public with her daughter’s illness.

And he admires her character as much as her uncanny beauty.
