Michael Jackson’s Children Have Grown Up To Lead Their Own Successful Lives

Michael Jackson’s music and entertainment legacy have made him famous around the world – he isn’t dubbed as the “King of Pop” for nothing. He has become a household name thanks to a long career filled with popular songs, show-stopping performances, and celebrity collaborations.

The artist’s personal life piqued public curiosity, particularly his marriage to Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie Presley, but he was an exceedingly private person who kept his profession and personal life apart for the most part. That included his prior partnerships as well as his children.

Michael has three children, including a son named Michael Joseph “Prince” Jackson Jr., a daughter named Paris Jackson, and another son named Prince Michael “Blanket” Jackson II, which many people were unaware of. The Jackson children were kept out of the spotlight for the majority of their life, save on the rare occasions when they publicly joined their father. Prince, Paris, and Blanket were all seven years old at the time of Michael’s death, and they made their first public appearance at his funeral in 2009. In the following year, during the Grammy Awards, the two older Jackson children collected a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award for their father. But, for the most part, the three of them spent the following few years well hidden from the public view.

However, as Michael’s children have grown into young adults, it appears that they are choosing to follow in some of their father’s footsteps. Paris was the first to make a name for herself in the public eye as a model and actor. She’s been outspoken in recent years about how she struggled as a teenager after her father died, but she’s now in a much better position.

Prince has also made numerous public appearances, stating that “music is a significant part of [his] life” in an interview with the “Los Angeles Times.” He continued, ” “Because of my family, it impacted who I am, but I’ve always wanted to work in production. When my father would ask me what I wanted to accomplish, I would always say producing and directing.”

Additionally, Prince stated, “My father would constantly remind me that as the oldest, I had to make sure that the group was taken care of and that I had to be the leader and lead by example. But, after his death and our reintegration into the ‘real world,’ my siblings, to be honest, took up the slack that I had sadly left behind.”

Blanket was reared by his grandmother, Michael’s own mother, Katherine Jackson, who had also become his legal guardian after Michael’s death, as well as Prince and Paris. Blanket made waves in 2015 when “Radar Online” reported that he had changed his name to Bigi after years of bullying as a result of his old nickname. “He always thought the name Blanket sounded so ridiculous and disliked his father for calling him that,” a source told the publication.

“His schoolmates have always been little nasty to him because of their jealousy over who he is,” the insider continued, “and going by Blanket makes him a much easier target for derision.”

Bigi’s name was changed as she began school at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California. Although it may appear insignificant, the shift was undoubtedly significant for Bigi, who was beginning to make his own judgments.

In the year 2017, “”The kids live like Michael is continuously looking down upon them,” a family member told People, adding that Bigi “has had the most issues adjusting after Michael died.” He appeared befuddled and distressed.”

It couldn’t have been easy for him as a seven-year-old. Thankfully, he now appears to be doing well. Bigi is “shy among people he doesn’t know,” according to a family acquaintance, but he’s confident at his high school and largely focused on his schoolwork, athletics, movies, and socializing with his friends and many relatives.

Paris, Michael’s only daughter, has made a name for herself in the entertainment sector. In March 2017, she secured a deal with IMG Models and made her acting debut in a guest-starring role on the television drama “Star.” In 2018, Paris made her film debut in the film “Gringo.”

In a January 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Paris discussed how she dealt with the loss of her father when she was 11 years old and how she continues to carry on his legacy. Paris had 50 tattoos at the time, nine of which were devoted to her late father. “He’s only brought me joy,” Paris stated, “so why not have joy reminders all the time?”

Naomi Campbell interviewed Paris in March 2021 for her series “No Filter with Naomi.” They discussed Paris’ work and activism, as well as what it was like to grow up with Michael. Paris described her upbringing as a global citizen. “To be able to experience so much at such a young age was a blessing and honor,” she remarked. “My father was really good about making sure we were cultured and educated, rather than just showing us the flash and shine,” says the author.
