Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Are Telling Friends They’re Officially A Couple Once More

Jennifer Lopez, 51, has been one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelorettes since the dissolution of her partnership with Alex Rodriguez earlier this year. But, before anyone could think about who the singer/dancer/actress would date next, the world was surprised to find that she was reunited with her ex-fiancé, Ben Affleck.

Anyone who remembers the early aughts will recall that “Bennifer,” as they were known, was Hollywood’s sexiest couple.

The couple met on the production of their film “Gigli” in 2001 and began dating in 2002. They were very public about their relationship. They appeared to be set for a lifetime together after becoming engaged in November of that year, but they were suddenly over by early 2004. Bennifer’s story was never fully revealed to the world, but it appears that their story was not yet complete.

Following the breakdown of Lopez’s engagement to Rodriguez earlier this year, the multihyphenate was spotted with Affleck, stoking suspicions of a reconciliation. The couple was seen together several times in the weeks that followed, including on a trip to Wyoming. As more photographs surfaced, it became evident that Bennifer 2.0 was finally here.

Affleck and Lopez were both finally single at the same time, and they took advantage of the opportunity to reconcile. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Lopez and Affleck have resumed their relationship. A month later, the two went on a week-long vacation to Montana, where they visited the ultra-exclusive Yellowstone Club.

Despite the considerable distance between them — Affleck lives in Los Angeles, California, while Lopez lives in Miami, Florida — Bennifer has been working on their restored relationship, according to PEOPLE. The two have “been in touch every single day since their Montana vacation,” according to a source, and they are “dedicated to making things work.”

Lopez was even photographed inspecting at least one Los Angeles school last week, according to TMZ. She was also seen with Affleck at his house on the westside of Los Angeles. While it is uncertain whether the couple would move in together, moving to Los Angeles would undoubtedly bring Lopez and Affleck closer together, since they have been traveling all over the United States to visit each other. Lopez and her ex-husband Marc Anthony have 13-year-old twins Emme Maribel and Maximillian David.

The twins have been attending school in Miami for the previous few years, since Lopez was based there during her relationship with former professional baseball star Alex Rodriguez. They have primary physical custody of their children.

Despite the fact that Bennifer has resurrected, it’s difficult to forget the anguish and heartbreak the two experienced following their massive breakup in the early 2000s. The duo is thought to have started dating in the middle of 2002, when Lopez’s marriage to backup dancer Chris Judd officially ended. They met on the set of their 2001 film “Gigli.” They announced their engagement in November 2002 as well.

Unfortunately, their wedding wasn’t meant to be, and the couple divorced in early 2004. Lopez and Affleck both moved on and dated other individuals after their brief romance ended in 2004. In 2005, Affleck married actress Jennifer Garner, and the two stayed together through many ups and downs until their marriage ended in 2018. Lopez married Anthony six months later, in June 2004, subsequently saying that the marriage was “simply a Band-Aid on the cut” of the wound caused by her breakup with Affleck, which “hadn’t been stitched or healed.”
