This 39-Year-Old Mom Finally Gives Birth To A Baby Girl After Having 10 Boys in A Row

While some scientists claim to be able to foresee and maybe affect a child’s sex during conception, most parents prefer to be surprised.

However, this does not exclude them from trying for the gender they choose, which in this case was a baby girl.

For the Bretts, who have 10 sons ranging in age from 2 to 17, the Y chromosome has always been a big influence, but that changed in 2019.

The two X chromosomes were active this time, resulting in a lively baby girl.

Alexis Brett, a former nurse who retrained as a fitness teacher, had resigned herself to being the only woman in an all-male family after making a record as the first mother in Britain to give birth to ten males in a row. However, the incredibly happy parent was recently blessed with a new gender when she gave birth to her 11th kid.

As you can think, the parents are overjoyed, describing the last pregnancy as an unexpected but wonderful event. Last Christmas Eve, Alexis Brett believed she was pregnant, which was verified by a home pregnancy test. The parents were pleased to learn that their first child will be a girl after assuming it would be another male. They were so apprehensive about opening the envelope for the gender reveal that their son, Harrison, opened it for them.

The pleased mother had this to say after welcoming her new baby last month:

“We’re overjoyed. I was expected to learn that we were expecting another son. My face was a picture when I found out it was a female. I was stunned, but overjoyed. Now that she’s with us, it’s a wonderful feeling.”

A Baby Girl as a Surprise

Alexis became the first mother in Britain to give birth to ten boys in a row after giving birth to her youngest son, Rothagaidh, two years ago.

With the latest addition, the 39-year-old has spent the previous 18 years of her life pregnant for more than eight years and is now the mother of a large family.

Alexis named her newborn child Cameron after actress Cameron Diaz, and the tiny princess has already made a big difference in the household. Her 10 older brothers are more well-behaved, careful not to wake their little sister, and extremely protective of her.

People are used to commenting on the family’s unusual size, especially when she became pregnant again, and Alexis admits that not all of the comments are complimentary. “Some people assume we’re on welfare, but we’re not. We don’t even qualify for full child benefits because David has an excellent job.”

The ecstatic mother goes on to say that they are officially done having children. “There won’t be any more. That’s something I’ve stated before, but this time I mean it. As it stands today, I adore my family. I had no intention of having a huge family, but now I do, and I adore it.”

Being a mother is challenging, but it is also rewarding.

Alexis washes 49 loads of laundry each week, vacuums seven times per day, and expects to resume her part-time fitness instructor business in the coming weeks. The family has a seven-seater people carrier and a five-seater Range Rover to transport the children, but they still have to travel as a family in two vehicles.

David, her spouse, works as a train driver and leaves the house at 5:30 a.m. He has early-onset Parkinson’s disease, although his symptoms are minimal and are managed with medicine. He is a hands-on father who assists Alexis in caring for their two sons.

Alexis will have some peaceful time before the kids get up in the morning, allowing her to wash and have a cup of coffee. When asked if she had hoped for a girl, she said she would have been content with a boy as her 11th kid.

“We are questioned a lot if we have so many kids because we were hoping for that one special daughter.” ‘No,’ I can honestly say. “I was thrilled even if Cameron wasn’t planned,” she added.

Nonetheless, Alexis confesses that purchasing pink items for the first time is a lot of joy for her.
